Loop Recording Device
This is a small Insertable Cardiac Monitoring System ( ICM ), inserted under the skin over the heart area. The skin is cleaned, local anaesthetic is used to numb the area where the device will be inserted. A small cut is made in the skin and the small loop recorder inserted under the skin on the muscle.
It is a third of the size of a AAA battery. From the moment the device is activated it will record a continuous ECG for the next 2 to 3 years. Its is wireless and data can be down loaded at anytime by means an external probe. Once a diagnosis is made the device is then removed.
